Liza’s Good Judy

A love letter to mother-daughter divas Judy Garland and Liza Minnelli, Liza’s Good Judy follows a daughter’s journey through the grief and acceptance of losing a parent.

As Liza (played by Manda Rozen-Flannery) unpacks a suitcase full of her mothers old things, the spirit of Judy Garland (also played by Manda Rozen-Flannery… yep, you read that right) appears. Through song and verbatim text, undeniable parallels appear between their lives - the fickle nature of fame, multiple closeted husbands… addiction - Liza is left to decide how she wants to remember her mother, and in turn, how she wants to be remembered.

Liza’s Good Judy was performed at The Motley Bauhaus from 29th Jan-7th Feb as part of the 2025 Midsumma Festival.
